BOLISTIK …A ballistic body is defined as one that is free to move, behave, and be changed by ambient conditions- in this case music. Bolistik, the joining forces of producer/drummer Ben Krames (Jungleshack Music) and label owner/bassist Jetsun Bradford-Ebey (Good Worx Music Group,) is named with this in mind. It is the gathering of many musicians from varied backgrounds and cultures so that we may learn from them and in turn be changed. While the focus of the album is on hip-hop, roots reggae, dance hall reggae and R&B it’s broader scope incorporates music from all over the world. The music combines the explosive power of rhythm with the unifying strength of lyrics. Bolistik features reggae greats Jr. Reid (Black Uhuru), Lutan Fyah, Ras Attitude, and Radioactive (Spearhead), Mano Negra, , Kev Choice, and reggae legend Yami Bolo among others. This truly is world music and as such, it belongs to all the people of this world. Bolistik’s goal is to raise social awareness and create sustainability within the music, the environment, and the world at large. This is a music of both change and unity.
